Jana Sena Party president and Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan on Saturday strongly defended usage of abusive language by his party MLA from Kakinada (rural) Pantham Nanaji against the YSRCP leaders during a recent press conference.
Speaking at the Jana Sena Organizational Coordinators Information Collection Committee meeting held at CK Convention Hall at Mangalagiri, Pawan Kalyan reacted to the recent political controversies involving Jana Sena MLA Pantam Nanaji,
Pawan Kalyan said the party does not encourage inappropriate language. At the same time, he accused YSRCP leaders of frequently using abusive language while in power and questioned their sudden concern about political decorum.
“Despite being reduced to just 11 assembly seats, some YSRCP leaders continued to use offensive language. If the opposition continues such attacks, Jana Sena will react in their own language. We shall only emerge stronger politically, whether by focusing on organizational development or by responding firmly to criticism,” he said.
According to him, while Jana Sena raises policy-related questions, political rivals often respond with personal attacks and character assassination.
He warned that if YSRCP continued targeting him personally, the party would receive a strong response.
The Jana Sena Party chief once again raised the issue of caste-based politics.
He said he does not engage in caste-based politics and accused his political opponents of expecting him to make caste-related remarks.
Pawan Kalyan questioned allegations that Jana Sena represented only a particular community, pointing to former minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy’s decision to join the party as evidence that people from diverse backgrounds trust its leadership.
Pawan Kalyan also stressed that welfare schemes should primarily benefit genuinely needy sections of society.
He clarified that Jana Sena has never opposed welfare programmes but argued that governments cannot rely solely on distributing financial benefits to secure electoral support.
He said infrastructure development, quality healthcare, and public services had been neglected while previous governments focused heavily on direct benefit transfers.
