The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Government of India, operates the centralizedNational Registries (VAHAN for vehicle details and SARATHI for driving licenses). By digitizing vehicle registration certificates (RC) and driving license (DL) databases, the portals allow citizens, police departments, and transport authorities to verify vehicle and driver credentials instantly.
1. VAHAN Vehicle Search (బండి యజమాని వివరాలు)
The VAHAN portal tracks vehicle records nationwide. Entering a vehicle registration plate number (e.g., AP39XX1234 or TS09XX5678) retrieves essential information:
- Owner Details: Shows the registered owner's name and financier details (if hypothecated).
- Vehicle Specs: Displays make, model, chassis number, engine number, and fuel class.
- Validity Dates: Checks fitness validation, tax payment status, and emission (pollution) certificate validity.
2. SARATHI Driving License Services
The Sarathi database manages driving license applications, renewals, and duplicate copy requests:
- DL Status Check: Enter your DL number and date of birth to check license validity (Non-Transport vs Transport classes).
- Services: Change of address, renewal of expired licenses, and adding a new class of vehicle (e.g., adding LMV to MCWG).
3. Traffic e-Challan Checks
Unpaid traffic tickets can lead to blocks on vehicle fitness certifications and transfer transactions. Devotees and drivers can check active traffic violations and challans on the national e-Challan portal or state police traffic websites (AP Police e-Challan / TS Police e-Challan) using the vehicle number or chassis number.
