Producer Venkat K Narayanan has gained considerable prominence in recent years.
Based in Bengaluru, he has expanded his footprint into Telugu cinema as well and is currently backing several high-profile projects, including Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film with director Bobby.
Before that, he produced Yash’s Toxic, which is yet to hit theatres. Earlier, he also bankrolled Vijay’s Jana Nayagan.
The Vijay-starrer, however, ran into censor and legal hurdles, preventing its planned release today. The delay has reportedly caused significant financial strain for those associated with the project.
Amid these developments, Venkat K Narayanan has received a notable political appointment.
The Tamil Nadu government has named him its Special Representative in Delhi, a position that carries cabinet-rank status.
According to the appointment order, he will hold the post for up to one year or until the government decides otherwise.
The appointment marks a significant addition to Venkat K Narayanan’s profile beyond cinema and places him in an important liaison role between the Tamil Nadu government and the Centre.
