I-PAC’s Rishi Raj Singh was a name that resonated with “power” during the YSRCP rule in Andhra Pradesh.
He used to call the shots, and there was a common perception that whatever he said, the then Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy would do.
He took credit for YSRCP’s victory at the time, and Jagan appeared to believe it as well, giving him the stature of a power center.
Even Jagan’s close coterie worked closely with him. He operated a large office in Hyderabad during that period but eventually shut it down after Jagan lost the 2024 election.
However, success was the foundation of that influence. Later, he worked for TMC in West Bengal and DMK in Tamil Nadu, where election outcomes did not go in their favor.
Following those setbacks, political leaders were reportedly no longer eager to even grant him appointments.
At one point, he was a power center who created jobs and helped many people remain employed. Today, he himself is reportedly searching for opportunities.
This is not just about Rishi Raj. It can happen to anyone whose profession is built on success and influence, but becomes significantly more challenging in times of defeat.
