The Maharashtra government has made Marathi teaching compulsory from Class 1 to Class 10 across all school boards and mediums.
Schools failing to comply will face fines of up to ₹1 lakh, while repeated violations could result in the cancellation of recognition. The government will also appoint qualified Marathi teachers, strengthen inspections, and revise the curriculum to highlight Maharashtra's history, culture, and iconic personalities.
