Today, June 28, marks the final opportunity for UPSC Civil Services Preliminary exam qualifiers to submit their Detailed Application Forms for the 2026 Main Examination.
This crucial step, initiated on June 19, requires candidates to confirm personal and educational data, select cadre preferences, and pay the fee if applicable. Successful DAF submission is mandatory for receiving e-Admit Cards for the Mains, commencing August 21, 2026.
The DAF submission process began on June 19 and is mandatory for all candidates seeking to appear for the UPSC Civil Services Main Examination 2026. Candidates are required to verify or update their personal and educational details, indicate cadre preferences, provide scribe-related information if applicable, and complete fee payment.
According to UPSC, shortlisted candidates can use the DAF portal to submit or reconfirm their details, pay the examination fee, update scribe information, request assistive devices or large-font question papers, and indicate their cadre preferences. E-Admit Cards for the Main Examination will be issued only after successful submission of the DAF.
Female candidates, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are exempt from paying the examination fee of Rs 200. All other candidates must pay the prescribed fee while submitting the form.
Candidates are advised to keep a copy of the confirmation page for future use.
The UPSC Civil Services Main Examination consists of nine papers. Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for the Personality Test (Interview), which carries 275 marks.
