Union Minister Nitin Gadkari urged the government to start direct flights from Nagpur to Dubai and Singapore, saying stronger international connectivity is essential to develop Nagpur into a logistics, cargo and aviation hub for central India. Speaking at the handover of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport to GMR Group under the PPP model, Gadkari also highlighted investments worth nearly ₹7.5 lakh crore across sectors in Vidarbha and called the airport transfer a “historic moment”.
