Jana Sena Party chief and Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan is back into his saffron robes. He will remain in this attire for another four months
. Reason: The Jana Sena chief commenced his annual Varahi (Chaturmasa) Deeksha.
He donned the saffron attire after offering special prayers at the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Mangalagiri, Guntur district.
He also visited Goddess Rajyalakshmi, where he performed special rituals before formally taking the sacred vow.
He later offered prayers at the hill shrine of Sri Panakala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy and received teertha prasadam.
As part of the temple visit, Pawan Kalyan also performed the Annaprasana (first rice-feeding ceremony) for Juvishya, the granddaughter of former Ramavarappadu sarpanch Varri Sridevi, at the lower temple premises.
The Jana Sena chief observes the Chaturmasa Deeksha every year, beginning in the Hindu month of Jyeshtha and concluding during Kartika.
The observance is undertaken as part of his commitment to practising the spiritual teachings and mantra initiation he received from his guru.
During the period of the deeksha, Pawan Kalyan follows a disciplined lifestyle, adhering to strict spiritual practices that include daily worship, meditation, mantra recitation and a sattvic vegetarian diet.
He also follows prescribed dress codes, predominantly wearing sandalwood-coloured attire while continuing to discharge his official responsibilities as deputy chief minister.
Marking the commencement of the deeksha, the Jana Sena Party shared several photographs from Pawan Kalyan’s previous years of observance on social media.
Among them were family photographs featuring his mother Anjana Devi and brothers Chiranjeevi and Nagababu, as well as images of the actor-politician with late balladeer Gaddar during an earlier deeksha.
The party also released photographs of Pawan Kalyan performing religious rituals, which quickly went viral across social media platforms.
