Netflix steps into the Telugu originals space with Super Subbu, a light-hearted entertainer starring Sundeep Kishan in the lead, with Mallik Ram helming it.
Produced by Rajiv Chilaka and Bharath Laxmipati under Chilaka Productions, Super Subbu premieres on Netflix on July 2.
Today, the makers dropped the trailer of the series that shows the unexpected journey of Subramanyam Chillukuri Rao, fondly known as Subbu.
A sincere young man with simple dreams, Subbu finds himself posted as a sex education officer in the village of Maakipur, a role he is completely unprepared for.
What begins as a temporary assignment soon turns into a rollercoaster of awkward encounters, surprising lessons, and eye-opening experiences.
As the villagers challenge his understanding of relationships, responsibility, and communication, Subbu must also confront his own fears and ambitions.
The series blends humor with meaningful conversations about consent, awareness, and social taboos.
Sundeep Kishan impresses big time in a hilarious role, and his timing is impeccable. Mithila Palkar, Murali Sharma, Brahmanandam, Getup Srinu, Maanasa Choudhary, and Jeevan are the other prominent cast.
About the series, Sundeep Kishan stated, “Super Subbu is a fun entertainer that tackles a subject people rarely talk about, but with a lot of humour and heart. Subbu always tries to do the right thing, but somehow ends up creating even bigger problems for himself. That innocence is what makes him so lovable. Being part of Netflix’s first Telugu original series has been a special experience, and I can’t wait for audiences to enjoy Subbu’s crazy journey.”
The trailer further builds curiosity for the series, promising hilarious entertainment while also being educational. Seemingly, the first Telugu series from Netflix is going to become a sure shot blockbuster.
