US President Donald Trump on Tuesday (June 23) criticized the U.S. Senate’s passage of a War Powers resolution seeking to halt military action against Iran, saying it undermines Washington’s position. In a post on his Truth Social platform late on Tuesday, Trump called the move "poorly timed and meaningless" and accused those who voted in favor of providing "comfort" to Iran and making his job "more difficult". The Senate earlier approved the measure in a 50-48 vote, with four Republicans joining most Democrats to back the resolution, which would direct Trump to end U.S. involvement in hostilities with Tehran.
