The action family drama, which released on June 19, showed strong growth through the weekend and crossed Rs 23 crore net in India by the end of Day 3.
On its third day, Maa Inti Bangaaram collected Rs 10.10 crore net across 2,965 shows. This marks a solid 32 per cent jump from its Day 2 net collection of Rs 7.65 crore.
With this, the film’s total India net collection now stands at Rs 23.10 crore. Its India gross collection has reached Rs 26.69 crore so far.
The film is also doing well in overseas markets. On Day 3, it collected Rs 4 crore overseas, taking its total overseas gross to Rs 15.10 crore.
As a result, Maa Inti Bangaaram has reached a worldwide gross of Rs 41.79 crore in its opening weekend.
The film marks Samantha’s return to the big screen after a three-year gap, and the response has been encouraging, especially in the Telugu-speaking states.
Directed by B V Nandini Reddy, Maa Inti Bangaaram also marks another collaboration between Samantha and the director after their earlier films Oh! Baby and Jabardasth.
Produced under the Tralala Moving Pictures banner, the film appears to have struck a chord with family audiences while also benefiting from Samantha’s strong star pull.
With steady growth over the weekend, the real test for Maa Inti Bangaaram will now begin on weekdays.
The coming days will decide whether the film can turn its strong opening into a long theatrical run.
