Obsession is refusing to slow down at the Indian box office. The Hollywood thriller, now in its fourth week, continues to surprise trade circles with its strong hold
.
On its fourth Saturday, the film witnessed a big jump and achieved a major milestone by becoming the highest-grossing Hollywood film of 2026 in India.
On Day 23, Obsession collected Rs 2.2 crore net in India. This is a strong 69.23 per cent jump from its Day 22 collection of Rs 1.3 crore.
Such growth in the fourth week is rare, especially for a Hollywood release in India. It clearly shows that the film’s word of mouth remains strong even after more than three weeks in theatres.
So far, Obsession has collected Rs 75.3 crore net at the Indian box office. Its gross collection stands at Rs 88.85 crore.
With this, the film has overtaken Project Hail Mary, which had collected Rs 75.21 crore net, to become the biggest Hollywood grosser of 2026 in India.
What makes Obsession’s run special is that the film did not open with huge hype. Instead, it slowly built momentum through strong audience response.
While many Hollywood films in India depend heavily on opening weekend collections and fade quickly, Obsession has grown steadily week after week.
The top Hollywood grossers of 2026 in India so far are:
Obsession – Rs 75.3 crore in 23 days Project Hail Mary – Rs 75.21 crore Michael – Rs 70.76 crore The Devil Wears Prada 2 – Rs 30.21 crore Lee Cronin’s The Mummy – Rs 25.32 crore
The film’s collection trend has been remarkable. Obsession collected Rs 18.55 crore in its first week and then jumped to Rs 31.25 crore in its second week. This kind of week-on-week growth is almost unheard of for a Hollywood film in India.
Even in its third week, the film collected Rs 22 crore, which was higher than its first-week total.
With the fourth weekend still not over, trade expectations are now high. If the film continues at this pace, Obsession could finish its India run in the range of Rs 90 crore to Rs 95 crore net.
For a Hollywood thriller that started modestly, this is a stunning box-office success.
