These days, youthful love stories are gradually finding their audience. Films like “Youth” and “Vazha 2” have recently gained traction, and now “Deewana” arrives with a similar premise. Does it manage to stand out?

Story Munna (Harshith Reddy), an intermediate dropout from a lower-income family in Hyderabad, spends his days enjoying life with his friends.

One day, while visiting a Mee Seva center to pay bills, he comes across Ammu (Smeha Manimegalai) and instantly falls for her. Despite repeatedly expressing his love, Ammu rejects him and asks him to stay away.

Performances Harshith Reddy delivers a convincing performance as an irresponsible youngster who gradually matures through life’s challenges. He is natural in both the carefree and emotional portions, and his dialogue delivery feels effortless.

Smeha Manimegalai not only looks charming but also gets an opportunity to showcase her acting skills once the story reveals her true self. The actress playing her friend also leaves an impression.

Naresh and Jhansi are excellent as the hero’s parents, while Venu Yeldandi makes his presence felt despite appearing in one episode. Raghu is okay.

Technical Aspects Music is one of the film’s strongest assets. The songs are catchy, with tracks like “Tella Pori,” “Idi Prema,” and “Dostulam” standing out. Some tunes evoke shades of “Arjun Reddy,” but they remain effective within the narrative.

The cinematography is functional, capturing the gullies of Hyderabad authentically. However, the second half could have benefited from tighter editing.
