
Allu Arjun has received court summons from Nampally Court in Hyderabad over the Sandhya Theatre stampede case. The court asked him to appear in person on Monday June 22 for a hearing
. Police named him as Accused Number 11 in the case. The theatre management is listed as Accused Number 1 to 10. The court also sent summons to 19 more people linked to the incident. This comes after the police already filed a chargesheet against 23 people for the stampede that happened during the Pushpa 2 premiere.
The stampede took place on December 4 at Sandhya Theatre when Allu Arjun arrived for the Pushpa 2 The Rule premiere. A large crowd of fans gathered at the theatre and this led to heavy rush and chaos. During the crowd surge a 35 year old woman named Revathi lost her life due to suffocation. Her young son was also injured badly and got hospital treatment. Police said the theatre team and the actor’s side did not inform about the visit in advance. A case was filed under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for negligence and poor crowd control.
After the incident Allu Arjun was taken into custody by Hyderabad police on December 13. He got interim bail from Telangana High Court on the same day. The actor expressed sadness over Revathi’s death and announced financial help for her family. Later his name was added in the chargesheet filed by police. The case has been in news for many months as fans and public discussed crowd safety at film events and theatres.
Now with fresh summons the court wants all accused to appear and present their side. Allu Arjun is currently working on his next big film Raaka with director Atlee. The film is expected to have a large star cast and high budget action. While the legal case continues, the actor has stayed active with shoots and public events.
