Prakash Raj denies allegations over him in Dharmasthala controversy. People cannot forget the controversy maskman created with his claims on the holy shrine of Dharmasthala, Karnataka
. A sanitation worker, who had claimed to have buried bodies of victims at Dharmasthala, moved the Karnataka High Court, seeking directions to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to file a final report in the crime registered before the Dharmasthala police station. He also sought action against conspirators, including individuals, YouTubers and others named in the preliminary enquiry report, and to consider the complaint dated December 18, 2025.
He alleged that activist Girish Mattannavar dialled actor Prakash Raj’s number and handed over the phone to him. The actor, who spoke in Tamil, told him to tell the authorities whatever Mattannavar had instructed him to and promised to come and hug him.
The petitioner also alleged Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi informed him that the ‘plan budget’ (to execute the conspiracy) was approximately Rs 200 crore and promised him Rs 50 lakh if he cooperated and ensured that Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade was sent to prison.
At one point, the petitioner said he asked Thimarodi and Mattannavar about their source of income to file such a frivolous litigation
This left all shellshocked. Now Prakash Raj, reacting to it, denied all the allegations. He said Chinnaiah had contacted him after the SIT began its investigation. Speaking in a mix of Tamil and Telugu, he expressed fear and anxiety about his situation, the actor recalled. “My response was straightforward. I encouraged Chinnaiah to come forward with the truth if it were genuine.”

Actor Prakash Raj on Wednesday clarified his position on the controversial Dharmasthala case, stressing that he had no involvement in the matter except for a phone call, which is now being read out of context.
The clarification came days after reports emerged about Chinna C.N., alias Chinnaiah, 50, the central figure in the Dharmasthala mass burial case, mentioning Mr. Raj’s name in a writ petition filed before the Karnataka High Court, where it was reportedly only a small reference.
According to the actor, Chinnaiah had contacted him after the SIT began its investigation. Speaking in a mix of Tamil and Telugu, he expressed fear and anxiety about his situation, the actor recalled. “My response was straightforward. I encouraged Chinnaiah to come forward with the truth if it were genuine,” Mr. Raj said.
He added, “I told him that if what he has is the truth, he should speak about it openly. I said the officer assigned to investigate the case is a good officer and that the truth coming out would be a moment of relief for everyone.”
