Former IAS officer and Liberation Congress Party president G S R K R Vijay Kumar on Tuesday described the two-year-old Telugu Desam Party-led coalition government in Andhra Pradesh as a “disaster,” saying he would give it a rating of just 1.5 out of 5 for its overall performance.
He said he would give Naidu a rating of 0.5 out of 5 as Chief Minister, alleging that the administration had deteriorated compared with his previous terms in office.
Vijay Kumar also targeted Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, describing him as a “visiting professor” to Andhra Pradesh.
He claimed that Pawan was increasingly absent from Cabinet meetings and played little role in government decision-making.
“No separate rating is required for Pawan Kalyan. The Chief Minister has effectively assessed his performance through the file-clearance rankings, in which the Jana Sena chief stood last,” he said.
Commenting on Education Minister Nara Lokesh, Vijay Kumar said the Education Department remained the “most happening ministry” in the government.
However, he claimed that Lokesh had largely continued the policies of the previous YSRCP government instead of introducing major reforms.
According to the former IAS officer, the coalition government had failed to make significant improvements in schools and should have continued the *Nadu-Nedu* programme more effectively.
He also alleged that the burden of using mobile applications on teachers had increased despite promises to reduce it. Vijay Kumar gave Lokesh a rating of 2 out of 5.
The former bureaucrat also assessed the performance of YSR Congress Party president and former Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy as an opposition leader, awarding him 1 out of 5.
He criticised Jagan for staying away from the Assembly, calling it a failure of opposition leadership.
Vijay Kumar argued that concerns over not being given sufficient speaking time in the House should not prevent an elected representative from attending the proceedings.
He said that if Jagan faced any humiliation in the Assembly, he should confront it politically and expose it before the public.
Vijay Kumar further alleged that law and order had deteriorated under the coalition government, claiming that cases were being filed against critics of the administration and social media users.
He also expressed concern over legal action against IAS and IPS officers, describing it as unprecedented.
He further alleged that, apart from Amaravati, no significant development activity was taking place elsewhere in the state.
