The long-running feud between Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath, popularly known as Chinni, and his brother, former MP Kesineni Nani, has reached a new high, with the latter launching a sharp counterattack following allegations made against him. A couple of days
ago, Chinni alleged that Nani was behaving like “Vijayawada’s Vijay Mallya,” accusing him of defaulting on bank loans and owing taxes worth more than Rs 120 crore.
Chinni also alleged that Nani was indulging in politically motivated propaganda against the TDP-led government.
Chinni accused Nani of defaulting on loans worth Rs 120 crore taken from Indian Overseas Bank.
He questioned why there had been no clarity on the repayment even after 11 years, pointing out that ordinary farmers and businessmen face strict action for delays in paying their EMIs.
He further alleged that Nani’s residence and hotel had been mortgaged to the bank.
Chinni argued that mortgaged assets effectively involve public money since banks operate with deposits made by citizens.
The MP also raised questions over alleged GST and other tax dues, saying those who preach morality should first fulfil their own financial obligations.
Responding to the allegations, Kesineni Nani accused Chinni of focusing excessively on his personal finances, assets, bank balances and lifestyle while neglecting his responsibilities as an MP.
Nani sarcastically described Chinni’s press conference as a collection of “stories” and questioned why he had not taken formal action if he genuinely believed that financial irregularities had taken place.
Nani also challenged him to file complaints with central agencies such as the Central Bureau of Investigation or the Enforcement Directorate if he had credible evidence of wrongdoing.
The former MP alleged that instead of approaching the appropriate institutions, Chinni was trying to influence public opinion through press conferences and media campaigns.
He further accused the MP of misleading the public through politically motivated allegations.
