Director Boyapati Srinu finds himself at a crossroads following the disappointing performance of “Akhanda 2.”
Released nearly eighteen months ago, the film failed to meet expectations at the box office, leaving the director without a new project on the sets since then.
Before the release of “Akhanda 2,” Boyapati was reportedly in discussions for a project with Allu Arjun.
He had also explored the possibility of collaborating with Tamil star Suriya. However, neither project moved forward.
Allu Arjun is currently occupied with several top filmmakers, while Suriya, riding high on the success of “Karuppu,” has lined up multiple projects, including his landmark 50th film with Nelson Dilipkumar.
Sources say Boyapati has also been looking at opportunities in Bollywood.
Among the names being discussed, action star Tiger Shroff is believed to be a potential option. However, turning that possibility into a reality may not be easy.
A reunion with Nandamuri Balakrishna, once considered a reliable combination, also appears unlikely in the immediate future.
The underwhelming result of “Akhanda 2” has considerably reduced the hype about their combination.
With most of his preferred options currently unavailable, Boyapati faces a challenging wait as he looks to lock in his next directorial venture.
