Andhra Pradesh information technology and education minister Nara Lokesh, along with his wife Nara Brahmani, conducted special religious rituals at their residence in Hyderabad on Monday, seeking divine blessings for their strength, wisdom and resolve to serve
the people.
“Brahmani and I participated in an Ekadasha Mahanyasa Purvaka Rudrabhishekam at our residence today, offering prayers for the health, happiness and well-being of our family, and for the peace, prosperity and progress of Andhra Pradesh. May Lord Shiva bless us with strength, wisdom and the resolve to serve,” Lokesh said in his post on X.
The rituals were performed on the occasion of Somavati Amavasya, an auspicious event that occurs when Amavasya (new moon day) falls on a Monday (Somavaram). It is considered to be a sacred day for Lord Shiva.
The ceremony was conducted at Lokesh’s residence amidst the chanting of Vedic hymns and sacred mantras by scholars and priests.
Family members also joined the special worship dedicated to Lord Shiva, praying for peace, prosperity and continued development across the state.
Apparently, Lokesh performed the ritual to pay obeisance to the god on the occasion of his elevation as the working president of Telugu Desam Party.
“He believes that with the blessings of the Almighty, he would get more power and strength to serve the people in a higher capacity in the coming years,” a TDP leader said.
