What happens when a shy, well-meaning young man is handed one of the most awkward jobs, and too in a conservative village.
Netflix’s first Telugu Original Series, Super Subbu, arrives on July 2 with a refreshing blend of comedy, drama, and social commentary.
Created and directed by Mallik Ram, and produced by Chilaka Productions, the series stars Sundeep Kishan as Subramanyam Chillukuri Rao, fondly known as Subbu, whose life takes an unexpected turn when he is appointed as a sex education officer in Maakipur.
Determined to do his job sincerely despite having little experience, Subbu quickly discovers that every lesson sparks new questions, misunderstandings, and village-wide discussions.
What begins as a temporary assignment gradually transforms into a journey of self-discovery, forcing him to confront challenges that threaten his relationships, ambitions, and personal beliefs.
Backed by a well-known ensemble including Mithila Palkar, Murali Sharma, Maanasa Choudhary, Get Up Srinu, Jeevan, and Brahmanandam, the series uses humour to tackle themes of consent, education, family values, and generational differences.
Set against the colourful backdrop of Maakipur, Super Subbu promises laughter, warmth, and plenty of unexpected twists.
