During his first visit to New Delhi as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, C Joseph Vijay reportedly impressed senior Union ministers with his respectful and humble approach. During his meeting with Finance
Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Vijay is said to have praised her, telling her that Tamil Nadu was proud to see a Tamil woman managing the finances of the Central government.
Only after offering the compliment did he take out a note from his pocket containing a list of demands for the state.
However, instead of immediately presenting them, Vijay reportedly sought Sitharaman’s permission to call his officials into the meeting so that they could explain the issues in detail.
His courteous approach and measured manner are said to have made a positive impression during his first official trip to the national capital.
