Janhvis Peddi Paycheque Shocks Trade Circles

Amid all the discussion and controversy around her character and its portrayal in Buchi Babu Sana’s “Peddi,” there is now buzz about Janhvi Kapoor’s remuneration for the film.

According to reliable trade sources, Janhvi reportedly received the biggest pay cheque of her career for “Peddi.”

The actress is said to have been paid around Rs 8 crore for playing the female lead opposite Ram Charan.

“This is the biggest pay cheque of her career, and she was a thorough professional on the sets of ‘Peddi.’ She was paid Rs 5 crore for ‘Devara,’ and this is a jump of nearly 50 percent from that film,” a trade source said.

With back-to-back success in Telugu cinema through “Devara” and “Peddi,” Janhvi is now being seen as a lucky heroine in the industry.

Trade circles say she currently enjoys a 100 percent success record in Telugu films.

The source also added that Janhvi will next be seen opposite Allu Arjun in Atlee’s upcoming film “Raka.” In Hindi, she has “Lag Ja Gale” with Tiger Shroff and Lakshya in the pipeline.

“Janhvi is now getting multiple offers in Telugu, and her pay cheque for ‘Peddi’ has set a new benchmark,” the source added.

While “Peddi” has turned out to be a success in Telugu, its Hindi version failed to make much noise at the box office.
