Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s Peddi continues its impressive run at the global box office and is steadily moving towards the Rs 300 crore worldwide gross milestone.
With strong audience turnout and steady weekday collections, the film’s team came together for a heartfelt thank-you meet to acknowledge the response.
Director Buchi Babu Sana said the idea behind Peddi came from his interest in untapped rural talent and national initiatives aimed at bringing hidden sporting talent into the spotlight.
He said the film was designed as an emotionally rooted story rather than a regular formula entertainer.
He also credited Ram Charan for trusting his vision right from the beginning.
Jagapathi Babu praised Ram Charan for carrying a demanding role with complete responsibility.
“Peddi played, fought and won. Even after winning, once the film was released, the Peddi team had to play again, fight again and win again. Perhaps this is one of those rare games where victory comes twice. Ours is a vulnerable industry. In such an industry, narrating this story to Charan, convincing him, Charan believing in it and a producer coming forward to back it — all this was a razor-edge journey. A slight misstep could have changed everything because the audience is the ultimate judge. Charan carried this entire project on his shoulders,” Jagapathi Babu said.
Ram Charan thanked the audience for the overwhelming response. He said the love coming in for every scene in theatres has been deeply moving.
He credited his faith in the story and the director’s vision for the film’s success, calling Peddi one of the most significant films of his career.
“I am happy that I believed in Buchi’s story. Collections are rising everywhere. For the first time after many days, I watched the film in a very calm theatre, but the response has been amazing. When Buchi first narrated the story, I hugged him emotionally. Later, I felt how risky it was. But seeing the post-release response, the audience has proved that if you work honestly, success will follow automatically,” Ram Charan said.
He also praised his co-stars and technicians.
“Jagapathi Babu’s emotional performance moved me, while Shiva Rajkumar’s presence added great value. A R Rahman’s music also played a crucial role in the success. Thanks to producer Kilaru Satish for making sure we had no difficulties every day, despite investing heavily in his debut production. He was there on the set almost every day,” Charan added.
