The NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme (formerly known as YSR Pension Kanuka) is a major social welfare initiative of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The scheme delivers monthly financial pensions to vulnerable segments of the population—such as senior citizens, widows, disabled persons, and single women—ensuring a basic standard of living.
Revised Monthly Pension Amounts
The cabinet has increased the monthly pension disbursement across categories:
- Old Age, Widow, Weavers, Fishermen, Single Women: Rs. 4,000 per month (up from Rs. 3,000).
- Differently Abled (Disabled): Rs. 6,000 per month (up from Rs. 3,000).
- Fully Disabled / Bedridden (100% Disability): Rs. 15,000 per month (registered under SADAREM certification).
- Chronic Illnesses (Dialysis/Thalassemia): Rs. 10,000 per month.
Who is Eligible to Apply? (Eligibility Standards)
To secure pension approval, the household must comply with the state BPL criteria:
- Ration Card: Must hold a valid White Rice Card.
- Income Limit: Family monthly income must be less than Rs. 10,000 in rural areas and Rs. 12,000 in urban areas.
- Landownership Limits: Total family landholding must be under 3 acres of wet land or 10 acres of dry land.
- Municipal Property: Residential property owned in municipal areas must be less than 1,000 square feet.
- Vehicles & Government Work: No member of the family should be a government employee, institutional pensioner, or own a four-wheeler.
Disbursement through Ward/Grama Volunteers
Pensions are directly disbursed on the 1st of every month at the pensioner's doorstep by local Grama/Ward Sachivalayam volunteers using biometric/facial recognition authentication. If a pensioner is traveling, they can register for payment release through biometric bypass or secure authorization.
