Korean Kanakaraju has turned into a celebration of laughter and, more importantly, marked Mega Prince Varun Tej’s return to the success track. The film’s blockbuster success event became even more special with Megastar Chiranjeevi, Nagababu and Krish attending the occasion.
For Varun Tej, the success holds deep personal significance. The actor said it had been seven years since he felt he had received the right film.
“I am very happy that everyone liked the film, appreciated it and made it a success. It has been seven years since I had a film that was right for me. Chiranjeevi always tells me that it does not matter how many times you fall. We have to keep working hard. We were brought up with discipline and hard work from childhood,” Varun said.
He said director Merlapaka Gandhi gave him an opportunity to explore a completely different side of himself.
“Gandhi presented me in a new way with a good story. Thaman is delivering a blockbuster every year. He is a great technician, and I thank him for his contribution. I also thank all our producers and Ritika, who was a great co-star. Satya and I travelled together like brothers,” he said.
Varun also spoke about the responsibility of carrying forward the Mega family legacy.
“I should never damage the name my Peddananna earned. My mother and father should always be proud of me. I want to see happiness in the eyes of my Babai and Annayya. I will continue trying to give Mega fans good films,” he said.
Nagababu’s speech turned the celebration into an emotional tribute to the Mega family bond.
“If all of us are here today, it is because our elder brother took the best care of us. He is like a father figure to us. We can never repay him for everything he has given us. As long as we have our elder brother’s blessings and the strength of our younger brother Pawan Kalyan, we will continue achieving success,” Nagababu said.
Chiranjeevi appreciated the entire team for the film’s success and particularly praised director Merlapaka Gandhi.
“Direction is a very responsible position. No matter what difficulties arise, a director has to move ahead with confidence. I wholeheartedly congratulate Gandhi. We have seen many horror-comedies, but placing the story against a Korean backdrop was a wonderful idea,” Chiranjeevi said.
He added that good films can be made within a reasonable budget if the director has strong visual sense.
“Even VFX can be done well in a cost-effective manner. Gandhi’s courage and conviction are clearly visible in this film. Korean Kanakaraju should be taken as an example of budget-friendly filmmaking,” he said.
Chiranjeevi also praised Varun Tej for choosing different kinds of films rather than following a predictable commercial path.
“Varun always wants to do different films. He has attempted movies like Kanche and Antariksham. Rather than simply trying to become a commercial star, he wants to make good films,” Chiranjeevi said.
He also said Varun Tej’s son, Vaayuv Tej, has proved lucky for the family and credited the little one for bringing good fortune with the film’s success.
