Saurabh Garg's term as Statistics and Programme Implementation Secretary has been extended. The senior bureaucrat will continue in his role until July 31, 2027. This extension allows him to serve on a contract basis beyond his current term. Garg also continues his duties as secretary to the National Statistical Commission. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved this one-year extension.
