Breaking News Live Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat and Daman on Friday to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth around Rs 22,000 crore, aimed at boosting infrastructure, healthcare, connectivity, tourism and economic growth. During his visit to Surat, the Prime Minister will review industrial operations and key infrastructure projects in Hazira before launching development initiatives worth nearly Rs 18,800 crore. He will also address a public gathering.
Oman's Mina al Fahal terminal has suspended crude oil loading following an explosion near its single-buoy mooring berths, two people familiar with the matter said. The explosion occurred between SBM 1 and 2 berths due to an alleged drone attack, they said.
The UN nuclear watchdog has been unable to inspect nuclear facilities in Iran affected by the war last June according to a confidential report by the UN nuclear watchdog circulated to member states. The International Atomic Energy Agency reported that it “cannot provide any information on the current size, composition or whereabouts of the stockpile of enriched uranium in Iran or whether Iran has suspended all enrichment-related activities.” The IAEA warned that it was “unable to discharge its safeguards responsibilities” that it has under the Safeguards Agreement of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, adding that it is “indispensable and urgent” for Tehran to implement its obligations under that Treaty.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners in Andhra Pradesh, during a coordination meeting on Thursday, finalised the seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, with the TDP set to contest three seats, while the Jana Sena Party will contest one seat. The meeting also coincided with discussions marking two years of NDA governance in Andhra Pradesh and 12 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership at the Centre.
