Strip away cricket and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is one of the most unusual assets an Indian brand can put money behind. He seems relatively untested and priced almost entirely on momentum. Also, he is just 15. He cannot vote, drive the Tata SUV he won as the IPL ’s MVP last season, or sign a legal document without a guardian. Yet the kid from Bihar, who sacrificed his Class 10 Board exams to Focus on the IPL, can walk away from a single day’s brand shoot with more money than most working Indians earn in a year, and the number continues to climb.
