Yash I Fear Letting Fans Down Not Losing Rs 200 Cr

Ahead of the release of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, Yash has opened up about the controversy surrounding its earlier box-office clash with Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge.

Toxic was initially scheduled to release on March 19, 2026, the same day as Dhurandhar 2. The makers later postponed the film, first moving it to June 4 amid uncertainty in the Middle East, before delaying it once again.

Speaking on Aap Ki Adalat, Yash said he has never deliberately chosen to clash with another big film at the box office.

“Whatever clashes you are talking about, I have never directly gone into a clash. My release date would have been announced first, and if someone comes after that, then it becomes a clash,” he said.

Yash admitted that the March 19 release had put him in a difficult situation because of the uncertainty surrounding the film’s release.

However, the KGF star made it clear that money was not the reason behind his decision.

“I have nothing in life that I am afraid of losing, so I have no fear,” Yash said.

He added that even losing Rs 100 crore or Rs 200 crore would not scare him.

“People think losing Rs 100 crore or Rs 200 crore can affect me. No. I had nothing in my pockets. Whatever I have now is a plus,” he said.

According to Yash, his real concern was whether he was delivering the kind of film he had promised audiences.

“My fear is about what I have promised people. If the product from my side is not right, then I move forward,” he said.

Yash also described the decision to postpone Toxic as an act of self-respect rather than ego.

“If I had refused to move my film just for my image or to prove something, that would have been ego. This was self-respect,” he said.

Toxic was eventually moved away from the March 19 clash and later postponed again, with a fresh release date expected to be announced.

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar went on to become a massive blockbuster, while its sequel Dhurandhar: The Revenge also posted huge worldwide collections.

For Yash, however, the message is clear: avoiding the clash was not about fear of losing money, but about protecting the film and delivering the right product to audiences.
