Minnesota Daycare Stabbing Update Multiple Dead Including A Child In Hopkins What We Know So Far

Three were fatally stabbed, including a child, at a daycare facility on the 200 Block of Tyler Avenue North in Hopkins, Minnesota, on Wednesday morning. There is a massive police presence in the area attending to the scene, with local Fox affiliate Fox 9 reporting that the situation is "very volatile."

Reports state that the daycare is Brown Bear Childcare. The other children at the daycare were unharmed and were safely evacuated, Hopkins Police Chief Brent Johnson confirmed. Describing it as a domestic incident, Chief Johnson confirmed at a presser at 11:30am CDT that two adults and a child were found dead at the daycare.

Johnson added that the victims were a man, a woman and a child and they were believed to be from the same family. They were believed to be the owners of the daycare. No details regarding the suspect have been released, as of this writing. The investigation into the deaths in ongoing.

“This is a horrific, tragic situation for any community, especially in Hopkins where we don’t see this type of crime,” Johnson said.

No information regarding what sparked the stabbing was revealed. Local news reports add that the scene has now been secured and there is no active threat to the public.
