Suriya’s Vishwanath and Sons witnessed a huge jump at the box office on Day 2, showing strong momentum after a solid opening.
The film collected Rs 22.25 crore net in India on Day 2, registering a 45% growth compared to its Day 1 net collection of Rs 15.35 crore.
With 5,157 shows across India on the second day, the film’s total India net has now reached Rs 37.60 crore. The total India gross collection stands at Rs 43.47 crore after two days.
The film is also performing strongly in overseas markets.
Vishwanath and Sons collected Rs 17 crore overseas on Day 2, taking its total overseas gross to Rs 31 crore.
With this, the film’s worldwide gross has reached Rs 74.47 crore in just two days.
The sharp growth on Day 2 is an encouraging sign for the film, especially with the weekend still underway. If the momentum continues, the movie could post a strong extended weekend total.
Directed by Venky Atluri, Vishwanath and Sons is produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Srikara Studios, Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas.
The family drama also stars Mamitha Baiju, Radhika Sarathkumar and Raveena Tandon in key roles.
The film was reportedly made on a budget of around Rs 130 crore.
With strong growth in India and solid overseas numbers, all eyes are now on how far Vishwanath and Sons can go over the weekend.
