Tim stayed in the main villa, where his room came with a living area, minibar, Italian coffee machine, complimentary snacks, a concealed TV and a spacious marble bathroom. “Now, yes, it is pretty small, but wait till I tell you the price,” he said while giving viewers a room tour.
The room cost him €5,000 (around ₹5.4 lakh) for one night. Despite spotting a few minor imperfections, Tim was impressed by the interiors and views. “The views are insane,” he said.
Tim also booked a private two-hour boat tour of Lake Como, which cost €900 (around ₹97,000). “I couldn’t come all the way to Lake Como without actually going on Lake Como,” he said.
Dinner at the hotel’s restaurant cost around €167 ( ₹18,000). Tim tried watermelon with fried cheese and later had pasta with caviar and lemon butter sauce. “I’ve never had caviar on pasta before,” he said, before praising the combination. He also pointed out that bottled water cost €12 (around ₹1,300) at the restaurant, despite the same water being complimentary in his room.
During his stay, Tim explored the property’s historic underground tunnels, originally built to transport goods from the lake to the villa. The tunnels now lead towards a subterranean pool and spa featuring facilities including a sauna, steam room and ice bath.
Despite the eye-watering costs, Tim said the property largely lived up to its reputation. “It is like being in a movie and it’s everything that you can imagine Lake Como would be,” he said.
Including the room, boat ride, dinner and other expenses, Tim estimated that his one-night experience came to around €6,000 ( ₹6.5 lakh).
