XI put forth five initiatives in areas ranging from AI to trade to deepen cooperation among the "Greater BRICS" emerging economies, as Beijing seeks to weld the grouping into a practical platform for Global South development
Xi also called for a rules-based international order at the Summit, saying global rules must be shaped by all countries. He said the “might makes right” approach should have been discarded and urged Global South nations to jointly uphold international law, sovereign equality, non-interference in internal affairs and the peaceful settlement of disputes, while ensuring rules are applied equally without double standards.
